Culver City Elections
Elected officials generally stay for 4 years but a mayor and vice mayor are selected for one year terms.
General municipal elections are every two years, the next being on November 8, 2022.
The requirements to be a candidate are that you must be a Culver City resident, registered voter for 30 days before nomination papers are turned in, and receive 20 valid signatures on nomination card (of registered Culver voters).
The City Council has a five member legislative body which makes the city’s laws.
For ballot measures (like local laws), you can find all information on the city website, and the voting process is done on general municipal elections.
There are more than 13 committees and each term length varies. Some committees also have open positions for high school students.
